Bandar Lengeh Mohammadiyeh historical school

Mohammadiyeh historical school is a magnificent building made of stone and plaster, which is located in the village of Dejgan, between Bandar Lengeh and Bandar Khamir in Hormozgan province, and is the second school in southern Iran.

This school is among the first schools in Iran after Tehran Academy of Arts and Saadat Bushehr.The mosque and School of Mohammadiyeh Dejgan was an abandoned garden house that was used as a residence for gunmen and to keep the horses of the governors of Bandar-e-Lengeh before its construction. The people of Bandar Lengeh and Philanthropist rebuilt this place and named it Mohammadiyya after the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH). Since Mohammadieh Dejgan school has a part called mosque, it is also known as school mosque. The historical school of Mohammadiyeh Bandar Lengeh was built in 1839 by Sheikh Mohammad Khan Bastaki. This building is made in a rectangular shape with dimensions of 24 by 41 and a height of 4 meters. Until 1941, congregational prayers were held in the School and mosque of Mohammadiyeh and this building has been used for more than a century. This school was rebuilt at the same time as the anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution in 1978, and in a ceremony attended by the governor of Hormozgan province and other local managers, the new building of this school was put into operation.
The building had suffered serious damage before the reconstruction and restoration works, and most of the mosque's nave had been destroyed. Mohammadiyeh historical school was registered in the list of national monuments in 1984 with the number 13565. By participating in tours of Hormozgan province, you can see this historical monument.
