Noushabad Atiq Grand Mosque

Noushabad Atiq Grand Mosque is a valuable building located in Isfahan province. According to the available documents, this mosque was originally a fire temple, which changed its function with the advent of Islam in Iran by converting to a mosque.

Then, in Seljuk and Safavid periods, some other buildings were added to this structure and it was more developed. This mosque has two main entrances, which are located on the southeast and southwest sides; the southeast entrance dates back to 1596, and the southwest entrance dates back to 1723. Noushabad Mosque has two porches called north and south porches and a shabestan on the east side; the winter shabestan, which is the only current shabestan of the mosque, has brick arch roofs. In addition to the middle courtyard, the mosque has another courtyard on the north side, which is probably the remnant of a larger courtyard. The southern porch of this courtyard is combined with the porches on either side; in this porch, there is a plaster inscription in suls script, the date of which is missing. This part of the Grand Mosque has beautiful architecture with brick and tile decorations. There is a minaret in the northwest corner of Noushabad Grand Mosque, which experts consider to be a relic of the Seljuk period based on its bricklaying; this beautiful minaret is made of bricks, with the phrase Al-Alam Endallah engraved on its body in brick and Banaii Kufic script. This historical place was inscribed in 1998 as one of the national monuments of Iran. Furhermore, Sabat (roofed lanes), water reservoir and Imam Zadeh Ishaq are located beside this mosque.
