The architecture of Qazvin Chehelston Palace

The architecture of Qazvin Chehelston Palace is designed in an octagonal shape and the mansion has two floors. The construction of this building is 500 square meters.A portico with brick columns and semicircular arches surrounds the building and on top of it, there is a porch with wooden columns. The plan of the building has a cross-shaped and extroverted design and the ceiling of the ground floor is covered with Mogharnas with original designs and the roof of the upper floor is covered with khoncheh poosh. This building is one of the rarest palaces during the reign of Shah Tahmasb, which has survived since then and has great historical, architectural and cultural importance.Inside the palace there are 2 separate floors, in each of which you can see exquisite paintings and calligraphy.Qazvin Chehelston Palace can be an exceptional opportunity for most people who are very interested in calligraphy, because this palace also functions as a calligraphy museum and has a lot of fans in this regard.

What has doubled the charm of this palace is the use of colored and very attractive glass in this palace, which is known as one of the symbols of Iranian architecture. It seems that these colored glasses have many applications in Iranian architecture and are not studied only in terms of aesthetics. For example, some sources say that colored glass and its reflection of light during the day, even causes the removal of pests such as mosquitoes, flies, etc., but there is no scientific and official source to prove such a thing to talk about this issue. But above all, the effective role that these colored glasses have played in the visual beauty of Iranian architecture is undeniable. Finally, we can point to the small and narrow stairs that connect these two floors, which also have their own charm. As you climb the stairs, you must be careful of the steps you take, and on the other hand, you will be attracted by the charm of the interior of Qazvin Chehelston Palace. This beautiful palace was first registered in the list of historical monuments of the country in February 1954.
