Yazd Water Museum can be one of the tourist attractions of Yazd, which was opened in May 2000. This museum was created in one of the most unique residential houses of the Qajar period, famous in the house of the Kolahdooz, which has five floors and is about 720 meters.

The construction of the house of Kolahdooz started in 1888 by the order of Haj Seyyed Ali Akbar Kolahdooz, a famous businessman in Yazd. Due to its proximity to the famous Amir Chakhmaq Square in Yazd, the Water Museum attracts a lot of tourists. The museum exhibits water-related artifacts and handicrafts such as aqueduct digging equipment, water storage and transport containers, water volume measuring instruments, and lighting supplies on the aqueduct. In addition, in this museum, documents of buying and selling water, old endowment letters, documents of water distribution, etc. are kept. The plan of Yazd Water Museum is very beautiful and spectacular. This museum has a central and rectangular courtyard. The courtyard with the pond and the garden is located in the middle of the house and the rooms and warehouses are located around it. The building of this mansion is built on five floors, which is rarely seen in the architecture of old and historical houses in Yazd. The second floor of the Yazd Water Museum, which is octagonal in shape, is located at a depth of 10 meters. In this part, there is a pond through which the water of the aqueduct passes, keeping the air always cool and pleasant. This part has been a good place for storing and saving food due to its air temperature. The third floor has many rooms and corridors, which have been the residence of the residents on hot summer days due to its pleasant coolness. The fourth floor, which is on the ground floor, consists of various parts such as the hall, Orsi (sash) room, the five-door rooms, the kitchen and the living quarters of the crew. Existence of a hall of mirrors and colorful windows is one of the beauties of this section, which has been noticed by tourists in Yazd province. The fifth floor is the roof of the house, which is also known as chah Khane (the well house). In this part of the house, a well was installed by which water was taken from Rahimabad aqueduct and poured into a spring for family members to use for drinking and other purposes.
